释义 |
BiographyAger Gum was born in Dinkaland in the Sudan in 1941 at time when North South and South Sudan was still one country. She was born in Nyang in present-day South Sudan to a mother from the Yibel tribe. After three failed marriages by the age of twenty-seven, Anger Gum left her Dinka community to start a new life in the urban town of Rumbek, the capital of Lakes State, central South Sudan, and the former capital of the country. Whiles she was in Rumbek, she started composing songs about unsuccessful marriages in her community. The themes of her compositions were mainly directed toward men, whom she said "want sex rather than real relationships". She joined the South Sudanese liberation movement against the north in 1968 and rose to become a general with the Sudan People's Liberation Army after going to war alongside men.[1][2] References1. ^1 {{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com.gh/books?id=39JMAgAAQBAJ&lpg=PA114&dq=Ager+Gum&pg=PA114&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=Ager%20Gum&f=false|title=Dictionary of African Biography|last=Jr|first=Professor Henry Louis Gates|last2=Akyeampong|first2=Professor Emmanuel|last3=Niven|first3=Mr Steven J.|date=2012-02-02|publisher=OUP USA|isbn=9780195382075|language=en}} 2. ^1 {{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com.gh/books?id=r61i6BD0Vw0C&pg=PA73&lpg=PA73&dq=yibel+sudan&source=bl&ots=OM_alOxHlL&sig=aLHdIhXAq8OCIWTpKzdN_DWTH-4&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwijv5nF-sfXAhWEWRoKHQy7BrgQ6AEINDAF#v=onepage&q=yibel%20sudan&f=false|title=Sudan's Blood Memory: The Legacy of War, Ethnicity, and Slavery in Early South Sudan|last=Beswick|first=Stephanie|date=2004|publisher=University Rochester Press|isbn=9781580461511|language=en}} 5 : South Sudanese military personnel|South Sudanese musicians|South Sudanese women|1941 births|1996 deaths |
