He is a member of Malaysian United Indigenous Party or Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) and the chairman of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition in Perak. He is the twelfth and current Menteri Besar of Perak.[1] EducationAhmad Faizal was born in Ipoh, Perak. He received his primary education at Cator Avenue School, Ipoh and had his secondary education at Anderson School, Ipoh. He pursued a Businees Studies degree from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. He However did not complete the course. [2] Political careerHe began his political career as a Special Officer to Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai between 2011 and 2013 before becoming Senior Special Officer to Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir between 2013 and 2016. He was the former Umno Ipoh Barat Youth chief (2016-2017) before he became Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman. He was subsequently named Perak Pakatan Harapan chairman in August 2017.[3] ControversyOn 23 November 2018, Ahmad made a statement that the Orang Asli (Indigenous Tribe) should improve themselves before asking for aid. This sparked controversy which started the motion to overthrow him as Menteri Besar of Perak by UMNO assemblymen. In many occasions Faizal Azumu admitted and confessed that he pursued a Businees Studies degree from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia.
