The population was 699 at the 2010 census. Of this, 477 were in Richland County, and 222 were in Vernon County. The racial makeup of the village was 98.6% White, 0.6% African American, 0.3% from other races, and 0.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.6% of the population. There were 279 households of which 30.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.2% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 34.1% were non-families. 27.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.06. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.20% of the population. There were 290 households out of which 24.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.7% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.9% were non-families. 31.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 2.88. In the village, the population was spread out with 22.0% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 23.7% from 25 to 44, 24.0% from 45 to 64, and 21.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.7 males. The median income for a household in the village was $28,068, and the median income for a family was $34,286. Males had a median income of $28,583 versus $17,188 for females.
