CareerHosan was elected to Parliament from Patuakhali-3 in 1991, 1996, and 2001 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate. He was made the State Minister of Textiles in 1998 in the First Sheikh Hasina Cabinet.[1] He did not received the nomination for 2008 general election from Bangladesh Awami League for his support for reforms in the league during the 2006–08 Bangladeshi political crisis.
