Alex Moore (born 19 August 1963) is a Scottish former rugby player who won five caps for Scotland playing on the wing.

Early life and club rugby

Moore was born in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia on the 19th August 1963 to Scottish immigrants Mary and Alex Moore; his twin brother was born the next day. In 1966 the family moved from Australia to West Lothian, the home county of his parents. He has two younger sisters. He played at Livingston RFC for three seasons, followed by three seasons at Gala RFC.[1] He played sevens too, helping Gala to lift the Jedforest trophy in 1985.[2] After this he joined Edinburgh Academicals.[1]

International career

He was called up at short notice to the 1990 Scotland rugby union tour of New Zealand and performed well in early matches.[1]

His first international cap was against New Zealand at Auckland on 23 June 1990. The last of his five caps was against England at Twickenham on 16 February 1991.[3]

He played three matches for Barbarians FC.[4]
