He became famous for his videos, in which he openly showed his extreme intolerance towards other people on ethnic grounds and not only, and in Mexico in 2017 an attempt was made to lynch him. He believes that those around him are just looking for ways to “how to piss him off”. In Mexico, however, his suspicions were reinforced by his belonging to Russia. Thus, his Mexican video blog has acquired a racist character: in most of his videos one can hear discriminatory remarks about the people of Mexico because of his suspicions of discrimination of his personality. Mexicans didn't accept this attitude to themselves, so they decided to hold a blogger over lynching.[1][2][3][4][5][6] So, on May 20, 2017 a large number of people gathered near the house where Alextime rented his apartment. For some time the crowd didn't attempt to break through, confining itself to verbal skirmishes and throwing stones at the windows. The police also came to the scene, but later they left. The point of boiling was the moment when one of the Mexicans climbed onto the terrace and tried to provoke the blogger, and he in turn, for self-defense, caused several knife strikes, in connection with which the man died on the spot.[7] After that, the crowd burst into Makeev's house and began brutally beating him. Later, the police arrived at the scene, stopping the mob law over Makeev, in connection with which he survived. Aleksei received a craniocerebral injury and was paralyzed, the doctors brought him into a state of artificial coma. After the incident, Makeev was prosecuted for his injuries, which led to the death of a nineteen-year-old Mexican.
