}} | The Alger class was a class of protected cruisers of the French Navy. The class comprised Alger, Isly and Jean Bart. DesignThe ships of the class were {{convert|105|m|ftin|0}} long, had a beam of {{convert|12.98|m|ftin|0}}, a draught of {{convert|6.1|m|ftin|0}}, and had a displacement of 4,313 ton. The ships were equipped with 2 shaft reciprocating engines, which were rated at {{convert|8000|ihp|abbr=on}} and produced a top speed of {{convert|19|kn|km/h}}. The ships had deck armour of {{convert|2|in|cm|abbr=on}}, conning tower armour of {{convert|3|in|cm|abbr=on}} and a complement 387 men.
