PlotOn one of those cloudy days, when thick and heavy fog hangs over London, a cab was driving Captain Crewe and his little daughter Sarah through the city having returned from India. Sarah was unlike other children; she had always thought and dreamed of something unusual. Sarah's mother died very early, and her father, was called away for service again, leaving the girl to be raised in a boarding house for the noble maidens by Miss Minchin. Suddenly, on Sarah's brithday, sad news comes from India that her father Captain Crewe had died. Attitudes towards Sarah, who had previously been the best student, changed dramatically. From her luxury apartment she is sent to the attic and made a maid alongside her new friend Becky. Unknown to Sarah Mr. Carinsford has arrived from India. He was a close friend of Ralph Crewe and his colleague in the excavation of diamond copies. Mr. Carinsford and his servant Ram Dass search for Sarah for a long time and finally find her. Now a part owner of diamond placers Sarah is a wealthy girl again, ,she is however still sweet and kind to everyone around her. Christmas is coming. Sarah invites everyone to a holiday. Miss Minchin is trying to dissuade her sister Miss Amelia and her pupils from going there, but in the end, even her favorite dog Mickey runs off to a celebration for Sarah, tired of the evil nature of Miss Minchin.
