Amanda Owen (born {{birth based on age as of date |42 |2017|02|04|noage=1|mos=1}}) is an English shepherd and writer. Her first book The Yorkshire Shepherdess was published in 2015 (Sidgwick & Jackson, {{ISBN|978-0283071966}}) and she followed this in 2017 with A Year in the Life of the Yorkshire Shepherdess (Sidgwick & Jackson, {{ISBN|978-0283072413}}). Before the books she was known to many readers through her Twitter feed as "The Yorkshire Shepherdess".[1] She lives and farms on a remote farm, Ravenseat, Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales with her husband Clive Owen and their nine children.[2] In August 2017 she appeared on BBC Radio 4's The Museum of Curiosity. Her hypothetical donation to this imaginary museum was a shepherd's whistle, used to communicate with her sheep dogs.[3] References1. ^{{cite news|last1=Parker|first1=Olivia|title=Amanda Owen: Yorkshire's tweeting shepherdess|url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/10771973/Amanda-Owen-Yorkshires-tweeting-shepherdess.html|accessdate=27 August 2017|work=The Telegraph|date=19 April 2014}} 2. ^{{cite news|last1=Moore|first1=Anna|title=Amanda Owen, Yorkshire shepherdess: ‘I like to give birth alone, like a ewe’|url=https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/feb/04/amanda-owen-yorkshire-shepherdess-nine-children-childbirths|accessdate=27 August 2017|work=The Guardian|date=4 February 2017}} 3. ^{{cite web|title=The Museum of Curiosity: Series 11, episode 4|url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0910yxc|publisher=BBC Radio 4|accessdate=27 August 2017}} External links
