Griswold joined the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 1860 as associate editor, and after nearly five years joined the Cincinnati Evening Times.[1][2] He toured the country giving humorous lectures, and died of apoplexy in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, while on tour at the age of 57.[1][3] References1. ^1 2 {{cite news|first=William Lightfoot|last=Visscher|title=Ten Wise Men and Some More: Chapter V.
