Meriam Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University[1] and an Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science[2] and an Elected Fellow of the American Meteorological Society.[3] EducationShe earned her diploma in civil engineering at University of O’Porto in 1985 and an M.Sc in ocean engineering in 1988 followed by her M.Sc in Environmental Engineering at OGI School of Science and Engineering in 1990 and then Ph.D in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Washington in 1993.[1] ResearchHer interests are hydrology and precipitation such as rainfall's affect on mountains and ground.[2] Her highest cited paper is "Decoupling of erosion and precipitation in the Himalayas" at 438 times, according to Google Scholar.[4] Publications
