She is a professor of nursing at Massey University[1] who was the head of the New Zealand Nursing Council. CareerHuntington became a Registered Nurse at Auckland Hospital in 1970, then gained a Bachelor of Nursing from Victoria University of Wellington in 1990 and a PhD in nursing, also from Victoria, in 2000, with a thesis entitled 'Blood, Sweat and Tears: Women as Nurses Nursing Women in the Gynaecology Ward - a Feminist Interpretive Study.' After her PhD she joined Massey University and rose to professor.[1] She is former head of New Zealand Nursing Council and current head of the school of nursing at Massey.[2] In 2012 she was appointed a Member of the Order of New Zealand.[3] Selected works
