Initially desiring to be a performer, Isndorf attended Juilliard's singing program, however upon her parents encouragement, she instead went to Queens College where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 1972, as well as her PhD from Yale University in 1975. Insdorf is a frequent panelist at various film festivals worldwide, most consistently at the annual Telluride Film Festival, as well as hosting annual coverage of the Cannes Film Festival alongside Roger Ebert.[2][3][4][5] Insdorf has written numerous books on various cinema-related topics, including on filmmakers François Truffaut and Philip Kaufman.[6] In 2018, she was awarded the Mel Novikoff Award at the 2018 San Francisco International Film Festival.[7] Insdorf is married to Mark Ethan.[8] References1. ^{{cite news |url=https://nypost.com/2017/02/23/the-biggest-movie-stars-cant-shake-this-interview-legend/ |title=The biggest movie stars can’t shake this interview legend |work=New York Post |first=Barbara |last=Hoffman |date=23 February 2017}} 2. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/insdorf-annette |title=Insdorf, Annette |website=Jewish Virtual Library}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://ece.columbia.edu/people/faculty/annette-insdorf |title=Faculty: Annette Insdorf |website=Columbia University}} 4. ^{{cite news |url=https://www.college.columbia.edu/cct/archive/spring14/around_the_quads5 |title=Five Minutes with ...
