Abram was made a Royal Historical Society fellow in 1911. She later published her first book Social Life in England in the Fifteenth Century in 1913 which used misericords in part as a source.[1] In 1919 she published her second and last book English Life and Manners in the Later Middle Ages[2] summarising medieval society based on her own research of primary sources. The book covers the time from the Black Death which started in 1348 and goes on to include the whole of the fifteenth century.[3] LifeAbram was born in Clerkenwell in 1869 and her mother died shortly afterwards. She taught at both Girton and Westfield Colleges and she may have assisted at her father's law publishing firm in London.[4] Abram went to study and take the tripos at Girton College in Cambridge under William Cunningham and Ellen McArthur. As she was a woman, a Cambridge degree was denied to her. She went to study further in Dublin where she was awarded a degree in 1906 and she was awarded a doctorate by the London School of Economics in 1909.[4] Abram died unmarried in Aldrington in 1930.[4] Some of her papers are at her alma mater.[1] References1. ^1 Girton College Archive, Cambridge, [https://archiveshub.jisc.ac.uk/search/archives/0951d107-4aec-35d8-90f9-c2e36584dc4b Personal Papers of Annie Abram], GCPP Abram {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Abram, Annie}}2. ^{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=dTbJBQAAQBAJ|title=English Life and Manners in the Later Middle Ages (Routledge Revivals)|author=Annie Abram|date=2 January 2014|publisher=Taylor & Francis|isbn=978-1-317-97546-5}} 3. ^[https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=dTbJBQAAQBAJ&redir_esc=y review of English Life and Manners in the Later Middle Ages], Google, Retrieved 11 March 2017 4. ^1 2 Janet Sondheimer, ‘Abram, Annie (1869–1930)’, Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Oxford University Press, 2004 accessed 11 March 2017 5 : 1869 births|1930 deaths|People from Clerkenwell|British historians|Alumni of Girton College, Cambridge |
