The event is scheduled to take place on June 1, 2019, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Undefeated defending WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will face undefeated challenger Jarrell Miller. This is Anthony Joshua's first fight taking place on US soil. BackgroundAfter the win against Bogdan Dinu, Miller said that he and his team "want Joshua but he is little busy and if not AJ, then Dillian Whyte, Derek Chisora, even a David Allen or David Price fight." Joshua has repeatedly spoken of his desire to fight the undefeated WBC champion Wilder for all four world titles, but with the American expected to fight Fury in a rematch in Las Vegas in April before the fight was cancelled, he needed alternative opponent and he insisted Dillian Whyte would then be the leading candidate. However, Breazele pulled out of the fight and instead he is fighting the WBC Champion Deontay Wilder on May 18. 'Big Baby' Miller confirmed talks over terms to challenge Joshua for the unified heavyweight championship. On 13 February 2019, Joshua announced the fight on his Youtube channel and social media - June 1 at Madison Square Garden where he is expected to defend his Heavyweight Championship titles vs Jarrell Miller. The fight will be aired live on DAZN in the United States, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the United Kingdom. Joshua is to earn a career-high $32 million for the fight and Miller would receive a $5 million purse. |
