He was elected to the position on 2 April 2018, replacing Arief Hidayat.[1] He previously served as the fifth Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia.[2] Usman served on the Constitutional Court for four years prior to his confirmation as Deputy Chief Justice.
