Anzor Ruslanovich Khizriev (({{lang-ru|Анзор Русланович Хизриев}}; born October 31, 1990 in Chechnya) is a Russian freestyle wrestler of Chechnen heritage, who represented at 125 kg the Russian Federation in the 2017 World Championships where he finished 5th place.

2x Russian national champion and Ivan Yarygin international runner-up 2018.^[3] and winner in 2019.

Background

Khizriev was born in Chechnya, but the age of 5 due to the First Chechen War his family fled to St. Petersburg, Leningrad Oblast. He started to train freestyle wrestling in primary school but in high school, he retired. After finishing Saint Petersburg State Medical Academy study he got the degree in surgery and returned to competing in wrestling.^[4]

Wrestling career

Khizriev represents Leningrad Oblast in Russian national championships. He is 2x Russian national champion. He represented the Russian Federation at the World Championships 2017 and 2018.^[5]

At Ivan Yarygin 2019 he beat Olympic gold medalist and 2-time world champion Taha Akgül of Turkey.
