HistoryThe AO1 Foundation was founded by Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz in June 2017. Wentz founded the organization primarily for underprivileged youth, the physically disabled and military veterans to be involved in his main hobbies; outdoor and wildlife activities. Wentz contributed his idea for a charitable organization based on his upbringing and religious views.[1] The Carson Wentz AO1 (“Audience of One”) Foundation focuses on three main objectives that reflect some of Wentz’s deepest passions in life – his faith, his enthusiasm for the outdoors and his avid love for dogs.[2][3] The "audience of one" in the foundation's name refers to Jesus, as Wentz is a devout Christian.[4] ServicesUnderprivileged youthAO1's main focus is on this area; their efforts mostly consist of food drives, shelters and educational opportunities for children in Philadelphia and outside of the US (mostly developing countries).[5] Outdoor and hunting opportunitiesAO1's provides outdoor and hunting opportunities for individuals with physical challenges, the underserved, or Military veterans living in the Midwest. Service dog programAO1's service dog program uses guide, autism, companion and detection dogs. These dogs are used for strictly medical or companionship purposes and also the AO1 Foundation also provides funding to families who cannot afford service dog prices. The service dog program mostly operates in Philadelphia.
