DescriptionThe species have cells that are 0.2–1.5 mcm in diameter. Their motile cells have a fascicle of flagella on one or both ends, with the exception of one species.[1] They are rigid and generally helical, and are 0.2–1.4 um in diameter. They also have a special polar membrane near the flagella.[2] Growth RequirementsGrowth is optimal in 30–32° Celsius.[3] {{section expand|date=September 2016}}SpeciesThe following are species of Aquaspirillum.[4]
Phylogenetic AnalysisA phylogenetic analysis by NCBI showed data that suggested all species of Aquaspirillum, besides the type species, should be moved into their own respective genera as Aquaspirillum is phylogenetically heterogeneous.[6] However, no new genus for the misclassified species has been proposed, so they technically remain in Aquaspirillum.[7] References1. ^Medilexicon Dictionary Retrieved March 18, 2016 {{Taxonbar|from=Q24041534}}2. ^Web2 Resources 3. ^Hylelmon,P.B., J.S.
