He was an elected Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and his research findings[2][3] have been documented by way of several articles.[4] The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1974, for his contributions to science.[5] Sreenivasan died on 20 July 1996 at the age of 87.[1] See also
