Early life was spent in Maternal Grand Father's House in the district of Noakhali in the British India. School education and Matriculation (School Final) was completed from Chittagong Collegiate School. Intermediate Science was completed from Chittagong College, Chittagong. Completed Master in Science (M.Sc) in 1964 from Dhaka University. CareerRahman served as the general secretary and later president of Bangladesh Centre of the International Theatre Institute (BCITI).[2][3] He is the founder general secretary of the theater troupe "Nagorik Natya Sampradaya".[4] He is a former chairman of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation.[4][5] Rahman directed over 35 plays including "Roktokorobi", "Banglar Mati Banglar Jol", "Narigon", "Irsha", "Opekkhoman", and "Waiting for Godot".[4][6]
