Most of the villages identified at present are in the VJT. Previously, some of the villages in the area of VMT were joined with other villages in the area. The Chief Secretary of the Municipal Council issued orders for identifying mandals and villages in Guntur and Krishna districts coming under the CRDA.[3] GovernanceAthota, being a part of Kollipara mandal, falls under Tenali (Assembly constituency) for Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which in turn is a part of Guntur (Lok Sabha constituency).[4] Zones within Guntur DistrictThe CRDA also comes under the mandate of Tadapalli, Mangalagiri, Tululgur, Duggiri, Tenali, Tadikonda, Guntur Mandalam, Cebrulos, Madikondur, Pidakakani, Vatticherukuru, Amaravathi, Kollipara, Vemooru, Kollur, Amrutralur and Chundur mandal.
