The circumference was tight because it was 300 yards with race distances of 250, 400 & 550 yards. The circuit was changed to all sand in the late sixties, and the starting traps and photo finish were constructed by the stadium staff.[4] Tams Brig was active for 39 years until 30 December 1972, when it was replaced by the Ayr Curling Club and ice rink.[5] References1. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/234029/623062/12/101167|title=OS County Series Ayrshire 1937-1938|publisher=old-maps.co.uk}} {{Scottish greyhound tracks}}2. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/fellina/4590004834|title=Ayr Greyhound Stadium|publisher=Flickr.com}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=New Scottish companies, 13 October|year=1933|newspaper=Edinburgh Evening News}} 4. ^{{cite book|last=Furby|first=R|title=Independent Greyhound Racing|page =76|year=1968|publisher=New Dominion House}} 5. ^{{cite book|last=Barnes|first=Julia|title=Daily Mirror Greyhound Fact File|page =409|year=1988|publisher=Ringpress Books|isbn=0-948955-15-5}} 5 : Defunct greyhound racing venues in the United Kingdom|Greyhound racing in Scotland|Sports venues completed in 1933|1933 establishments in Scotland|1972 disestablishments in Scotland |
