It is located on the Queiq Plain, between Sawran and Çobanbey (al-Rai), about {{convert|40|km|mi}} northeast of the city of Aleppo, and {{cvt|9|km|mi}} south of the border to the Turkish province of Kilis. Administratively the village belongs to Nahiya Akhtarin in A'zaz District. Nearby localities include Shuwayrin {{cvt|2|km|mi}} to the northwest, and Ziadiyah {{cvt|4|km|mi}} to the southeast. In the 2004 census, Bahwartah had a population of 754.
