Bambu De Pistola is a Filipino-American rapper from Watts, Los Angeles, California.[1] He has been called "one of the most well-respected indie musicians in the US".[2]

Bambu was arrested at the age of 16 and spent time in Los Angeles' Central Juvenile Hall. Released at 18, Bambu joined the United States Navy as a special amphibious reconnaissance corpsman (SARC), as medical support for the United States Marine Corps and spent time in East Timor, Middle East, and Okinawa, Japan.[3]

Bambu is a communist and frequently raps against the United States government, white supremacy, capitalism, and the police.[3]

He supports the marxist-leninist-maoist insurgency of the New People's Army and paid tribute to Chairman Mao in an eponym track.[4]

He is a resident of Oakland, California.[5]
