词条 | Bassaris |
释义 |
A bassaris is the Greek word for a fox skin. The Greek god Dionysus was associated with the bassaris, and his followers (the Maenads) were said to wear it. As a result, they were known as the "Bassarids." Dionysus was said to have worn the bassaris, although this detail was only to be found in Thrace.[1] References1. ^{{cite book|last1=Dixon-Kennedy|first1=Mike|title=Encyclopedia of Greco-Roman Mythology|url=https://books.google.com/?id=2U7okUE3PIcC&pg=PA64&lpg=PA64&dq=bassaris+skin#v=onepage&q=bassaris%20skin&f=false|accessdate=29 November 2016|isbn=9781576070949|year=1998}} 2 : Foxes in literature|Dionysus in mythology |
