It was formed by veterans of the Brazilian War and the Desert Campaigns of 1830s. This military unit had militia companies of Cazadores, Granaderos and Artilleros.[3] During the Guerra Grande, the Batallón of Rebajados of Buenos Aires moved to Banda Oriental to support the forces of Manuel Oribe.[4] This military unit also took part in the Battle of Vuelta de Obligado, against the Anglo-French alliance.[5] Its commander was the Edecan Joaquín Ramiro, a distinguished military man, who was in command of the Battalion until the fall of Rosas.[6] References1. ^{{Citation |last= |first= |year= |title=Los cuerpos militares en la historia argentina: organización y uniformes : 1550-1950|publisher=Julio Mario Luqui-Lagleyze|publication-place= |page= |url=https://books.google.com.ar/books?id=ln_fAAAAMAAJ&q=Batall%C3%B3n+de+Voluntarios+Rebajados+de+Buenos+Aires&dq=Batall%C3%B3n+de+Voluntarios+Rebajados+de+Buenos+Aires&hl=es-419&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjS2uqZ0uDaAhUJDpAKHRIDAfIQ6AEIMzAD|accessdate= }} {{DEFAULTSORT:Batallón de Voluntarios Rebajados de Buenos Aires}}2. ^{{Citation |last= |first= |year= |title=Vida politica de Juan Manuel de Rosas:|publisher=Julio Irazusta, Juan Manuel José Domingo Ortiz de Rosas|publication-place= |page= |url=https://books.google.com.ar/books/about/Vida_politica_de_Juan_Manuel_de_Rosas_La.html?id=rqgzAAAAIAAJ|accessdate= }} 3. ^{{Citation |last= |first= |year= |title=Revista del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Históricas Juan Manuel de Rosas, Números 54-57|publisher=Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Históricas Juan Manuel de Rosas|publication-place= |page= |url=https://books.google.com.ar/books?id=5vpoAAAAMAAJ&q=joaquin+ramiro+Batall%C3%B3n+de+Voluntarios+Rebajados+de+Buenos+Aires&dq=joaquin+ramiro+Batall%C3%B3n+de+Voluntarios+Rebajados+de+Buenos+Aires&hl=es-419&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjmn-aH1eDaAhUElJAKHQ-WCWUQ6AEILDAB|accessdate= }} 4. ^{{Citation |last= |first= |year= |title=Historia política y militar de las repúblicas del Plata desde el año de 1828 hasta el de 1866, Volume 6|publisher=Antonio Díaz|publication-place= |page= |url=https://books.google.com.ar/books?id=hC8OAAAAQAAJ&q=batallon+de+voluntarios+rebajados+de+buenos+aires&dq=batallon+de+voluntarios+rebajados+de+buenos+aires&hl=es-419&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjWo_Sx4eDaAhWDGZAKHeFFCSAQ6AEIPzAG|accessdate= }} 5. ^{{Citation |last= |first= |year= |title=Los cuerpos militares en la historia argentina: organización y uniformes : 1550-1950|publisher=Julio Mario Luqui-Lagleyze|publication-place= |page= |url=https://books.google.com.ar/books?id=ln_fAAAAMAAJ&q=Batall%C3%B3n+de+Voluntarios+Rebajados+de+Buenos+Aires&dq=Batall%C3%B3n+de+Voluntarios+Rebajados+de+Buenos+Aires&hl=es-419&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjS2uqZ0uDaAhUJDpAKHRIDAfIQ6AEIMzAD|accessdate= }} 6. ^{{Citation |last= |first= |year= |title=Vida política de Juan Manuel de Rosas, a través de su correspondencia, Volumen 7|publisher=Ediciones Trivium, 1970|publication-place= |page= |url=https://books.google.com.ar/books?id=Fo5oAAAAMAAJ&q=joaquin+ramiro+juan+manuel+de+rosas&dq=joaquin+ramiro+juan+manuel+de+rosas&hl=es-419&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjvifHf4-DaAhVHFpAKHcTxDSEQ6AEILzAC|accessdate= }} 3 : Regiments of Argentina|Military history of Argentina|Río de la Plata |
