It has a fractional sloop rig, a nearly-plumb stem, a reverse transom, an internally-mounted spade-type rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed fin keel. It displaces {{convert|8933|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|2207|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of ballast.[1] The boat has a draft of {{convert|5.83|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the standard keel and {{convert|4.25|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the optional shoal draft keel. the shoal draft keel version carries {{convert|2412|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of ballast.[1] The boat is fitted with a Japanese Yanmar diesel engine of {{convert|22|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}}. The fuel tank holds {{convert|34|u.s.gal}} and the fresh water tank also has a capacity of {{convert|34|u.s.gal}}.[1] The design has a PHRF racing average handicap of 135 with a high of 129 and low of 153.
