The block has a geographical area of 195.76 km2. As per the Panchayat notification 45 villages in the block are part of 09 Gram Panchayats. According to Census 2011, the total population of the block is 57,332; male population was 28,727, female population was 28,605, and population aged 0-6 was 9,623. LanguagesLanguages spoken here Hindi, Nagpuri, Kudukh and Sadri include Asuri, an Austroasiatic language spoken by approximately 17 000 in India, largely in the southern part of Palamu;[1] and Bhojpuri, a tongue in the Bihari language group with almost 40 000 000 speakers, written in both the Devanagari and Kaithi scripts.[2] Facilities
