He was created by Eric M. Miller and Charlie Petrek at the Eric Miller Animation Studios in 2015, and designed by Valerio Fabbretti. Bink is an unknown species from Earth who is covered in yellow fur with blue spots, and cloth wraps around his forearms, and lower legs. He also wears an amulet around his neck which looks like a compass of some sort.[1] Bink first appeared in the first episode of the animated web series "Bink" which was released in May 2016. In the web series it shows Bink in a testing facility where scientist perform tests on him to learn about him and his unknown species. In the web series there is a mechanical hand which attempts to perform the tests on Bink, but is often unsuccessful at getting Bink to behave during the tests. The humor comes from this conflict between the two characters.[2] OriginOn March 10, 2015 Eric Miller contacted his friend, Charlie Petrek about helping him to create an animated web series based off a cute little creature. They met for lunch to talk about what Eric wanted to do, and to have a brainstorming session. It was from this early conversation, and continued conversations the idea for a web series starring Bink was formed.[2] The name Bink comes from a shortened version of a nickname which, creator Eric Miller, was given by his family from when he was younger. It was a name he was not fond of in his teenage years, but later grew to accept it as a term of endearment. Eric thought it would be a great name for his new character.[3] DesignEric Miller reached out to Valerio Fabbretti about doing the character design for Bink. Valerio did the illustrations for the “Action Movie Kid” book written by Mandy Richardville and Daniel Hashimoto based off the hit “Action Movie Kid” YouTube web-series. Valerio agreed to do the character design, and in May 2015 started his work with Eric to bring Bink to life on paper, and by July 2015 they had a final design.[2] Voice actorsWilliam Dougan, is the current voice of Bink.[1] MerchandisingThere is limited Bink merchandise, but you can find available merchandise on the Eric Miller Animation Online Store.[4] FilmographyBink is the star of the animated web series by the same name as the character.
