BNS Joyjatra is a Type 035G (Ming class) diesel electric submarine of the Bangladesh Navy. She is one of the first two submarines of the Bangladesh Navy. DescriptionJoyjatra uses Chinese H/SQ2-262C active sonar (an improved version of Pike Jaw MG-100 sonar), a Chinese copy of the French DUUX-5 passive sonar, integrated by an ES5F integrated sonar system. The boat uses MRK-50 Topol (Snoop Tray) surface search radar, a Magnavox satellite navigation system for communications, with a Type 921A electronics warfare suite.{{citation needed|date=October 2017}} Joyjatra has eight {{convert|533|mm|abbr=on|0}} torpedo tubes which can launch a complement of 14 Yu-4 heavyweight anti-surface torpedoes. Alternatively, the boat can carry 32 naval mines.[1]Service historyThe ship served People's Liberation Army Navy Submarine Force with pennant number 357. Before joining Bangladesh Navy, she went through an upgrade and refitting process which extended its lifetime to 2030. The upgrades included the installation of new sensors and communication systems. The ship was handed over to the Bangladesh Navy on 14 November 2016.[2][3] She reached Chattogram port, Bangladesh on 22 December 2016.[4] She was commissioned into the Bangladesh Navy on 12 March 2017.[5][6] See also
