Bob Robertson (born 1929) is a retired play by play announcer and color man for Washington State University Cougar Football and Basketball.[1] He was the voice of the team on radio for 52 years.[2] He was also play by play announcer for Tacoma's Pacific Coast League team, with the ability to recreate play by play from the studio] while the team is on the road.[3] Robertson attended Western Washington State College in Bellingham. In 1955, Robertson went to South Bend, Indiana to anchor its school run TV station.[4] That lasted less than a year. In 1964, Robertson began his work with WSU football, leaving briefly to announce for the Washington Huskies from 1969-1971.[5] In 1972, he returned to WSU, where he would eventually do both football and basketball. Robertson was known for his sign off "Always be a good sport, be a good sport all ways."
