HistoryIn August 1906 a deputation from the West Guildford Roads Board spoke with the Minister for Railways JW Langsford, the minister was under the impression that the group were there to push for a station halfway between Guildford and Bayswater stations. The Minister explained that the Commissioner Mr George was opposed to a station at that location. Mr Georges had found that there was a requirement for a station one mile from Guildford and that the Commissioner would visit the spot to see for himself.[1] In July 1907 sort another deputation from the Roads Board, local MLA Mr Johnson said he had already spoken with the Minister for railways who had agreed to visit the district.[2] The station opened in 1910 as West Guildford, being renamed in 1922. Upgrade works commenced in 2003 with the original building demolished and replaced at a cost of $5 million.[3] On 31 May 2004, the upgraded station was opened by state Minister for Planning and Infrastructure Alannah MacTiernan. It is a part of the Public Transport Authority's Building Better Stations program.[4] Platforms{{tst|top|caption=[2810] Bassendean station platforms}}{{tst|stop=99481 |platform=1 |line=Midland |pattern=All stations, A, B, P |dest=Perth |notes=}}{{tst |stop=99482 |platform=2 |line=Midland |pattern=All stations, B |dest=Midland |notes=}}{{tst|bottom}} Bus routes{{brt|top}}{{brt|stop=[11722] Stand 1|sspan=5|route=341 |dest=to Morley bus station via Walter Road[5]}}{{brt|route=342 |dest=to Morley bus station via Rugby Street and Broun Avenue[6]}}{{brt|route=955 |dest=to Morley bus station via Collier Road[7]}}{{brt|route=905 |dest=Rail Replacement Service to Midland}}{{brt|route=683, 684 |dest=to Crown Perth, Burswood}}{{brt|stop=[11721] Stand 2|sspan=3 |route=340 |dest=to Caversham via Lord Street and Bennett Street[8]}}{{brt|route=341 |dest=to Beechboro via Sturtridge Road and Amazon Drive[5]}}{{brt|route=342 |dest=to Beechboro via Titus Road[6]}}{{brt|stop=[11720] Stand 3|sspan=3 |route=353 |dest=to Ellenbrook transfer station via Ivanhoe Street, Altone Road, Arthur Atreet, Everglades Avenue and Partridge Street[9]}}{{brt|route=955, 956 |dest=to Ellenbrook North via Ivanhoe Street, Altone Road, Lord Street, Ellenbrook transfer station and The Broadway[7][10]}}{{brt|route=905 |dest= Rail Replacement Service to Perth}}{{brt|bottom}} See also
