Lane has managed a variety of acts including Katherine Jenkins,[1] Asia, Yes, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, A-ha,[2] Vangelis, The Buggles, It Bites, A*Teens and Heather Small.[3] He currently manages Rick Wakeman and Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman.[4] BiographyLane began managing Yes in 1970, taking over from Roy Flynn who secured a deal with Lane, who worked for the Hemdale Company.{{sfn|Welch|2008|pp=90–91}} Lane continued to manage Yes until the end of their 1980 tour supporting Drama (1980).{{sfn|Welch|2008|p=200}} Lane was instrumental in arranging for The Buggles, another group who he managed, to join Yes for 1980's Drama.[5] He later helped form and then managed Asia, which emerged from the collapse of Yes in early 1981. Lane came up with the band name[6] having introduced vocalist/bassist John Wetton to ex-Yes guitarist Steve Howe.[7] In the late 1980s, Lane managed a rival group of former Yes members, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe (ABWH). Lane also managed GTR, also including Steve Howe. He became manager to Rick Wakeman (a member of Yes and then ABWH) in the 2010s and was announced as the manager of a new supergroup of former Yes members, Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman, in January 2016.[4] Lane started managing Katherine Jenkins in 2003, but the two parted ways acrimoniously in 2009.[8] Lane worked in the UK for much of his career, before moving to Scandinavia in the 2000s. In 2015, he became head of United Stage Artists globally outside Scandinavia, trading as United Stage International, with an office in London.[3][9] References1. ^Time to Say Hello: My Autobiography, by Katherine Jenkins, 2012 2. ^http://www.dagbladet.no/kultur/2007/03/07/494233.html 3. ^1 {{cite news|last1=Ingham|first1=Tim|title=Brian Lane joins Sweden’s biggest booking agency in international role|url=http://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/brian-lane-joins-swedens-biggest-booking-agency-international-role/|accessdate=2018-04-26|publisher=Music Business Worldwide|date=2015-09-10}} 4. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.rwcc.com/gorr_1601.asp|title=RWCC > Grumpy Old Rick's Ramblings January 2016|publisher=rwcc.com|accessdate=20 January 2016}} 5. ^http://ultimateclassicrock.com/yes-buggles-drama/ 6. ^http://www.areuonsomething.com/print_wetton.html 7. ^{{cite news | url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=336&dat=19820528&id=I0AjAAAAIBAJ&sjid=W4MDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6901,7796659&hl=en | title=The past in 'Asia's' sound | first=Jo-Ann | last=Wong | date=28 May 1982 | page=4E | newspaper=Deseret News | accessdate=11 March 2018 }} 8. ^{{cite news | url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/6035038/Ambitious-Katherine-Jenkins-leaves-her-long-time-manager-consulting-lawyers.html | title=Ambitious Katherine Jenkins leaves her long-time manager consulting lawyers | first=Richard | last=Eden | date=15 August 2009 | newspaper=The Telegraph | accessdate=11 March 2018 }} 9. ^{{cite news | url=https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6693004/executive-turntable-capitol-music-group-mac-presents-vevo-and-more | title=Executive Turntable: Capitol Music Group, MAC Presents, Vevo and More | date=10 September 2015 | first=Nick | last=Williams | work=Billboard | accessdate=11 March 2018 }}
