释义 |
The British Hospitals Association was established by Henry Burdett in 1884.[1] In 1887 it established a register of trained nurses for those who could show that they had worked for at least a year in a hospital or an infirmary and had been trained in the duties of a nurse. It ran a Nurses Co-operative in the early years of the twentieth century which employed 500 nurses and had a turnover of £50,000 a year.[2] Sir Arthur Stanley was chairman in 1924.[3] Bernard Docker was the chairman in 1941.[4] It was involved in discussions about the organisation of the future National Health Service, particularly about the Regional Hospital Boards.[5]References1. ^{{cite news|last1=Rivett|first1=Geoffrey|title=Biographical notes on Sir Henry Burdett, 1847-1920|url=http://www.nhshistory.net/burdett.html|accessdate=5 June 2017|publisher=NHS History}} 2. ^{{cite book|last1=Abel-Smith|first1=Brian|title=A History of the Nursing Profession|date=1960|publisher=Heinemann|location=London|page=59|accessdate=}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=British Hospitals Association|pmc=2304600|publisher=British Medical Journal|date=28 June 1924|page=1137}} 4. ^{{cite journal|title=British Hospitals Association|journal=British Medical Journal|date=8 November 1941|page=644|url=http://www.bmj.com/content/2/4218/664.1|accessdate=6 June 2017}} 5. ^{{cite book|last1=Webster|first1=Charles|title=The Health Services Since the War|date=1988|publisher=HMSO|location=London|isbn=978-0116309426|page=23}} 2 : Hospitals in the United Kingdom|Health care industry trade groups based in the United Kingdom |
