The British Liberation Army (BLA) was the official name given to the British Army forces which fought on the Western Front of World War II between the Invasion of Normandy and the end of the war.[1] Almost all BLA units were assigned to the 21st Army Group, which also included forces from other countries. Following the war the BLA was redesignated to become the British Army of the Rhine in August 1945.[2] References1. ^{{cite book|last1=Buckley|first1=John|title=Monty's Men: The British Army and the Liberation of Europe|year=2013|publisher=Yale University Press|location=New Haven|isbn=9780300134490|p=20}} 2. ^{{cite news |url=http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article187497575 |title=Monty's "Army Of the Rhine" |newspaper=The Telegraph |location=Queensland, Australia |date=25 August 1945 |accessdate=26 October 2016 |page=1|via=National Library of Australia}} 2 : Military units and formations of the British Army in World War II|Western European theatre of World War II |
