}}{{nihongo|Britney Hamada|浜田 ブリトニー|Hamada Buritonī}} is a Japanese female manga artist and tarento. She graduated from the Nihon Manga Juku Daytime Department from professional training course. She is affiliated with Ever Green Entertainment, and later Piece Eight Corporation (Peace Eight Individual Office).

Born from Chiba, Chiba, she does not publish her date of birth and actual age, but announced that she is 38 years old as of 20 February 2018.[4] The reason that her age is a "self-named 20 year old" is because "it is necessary to become a girl's feeling to draw a gyaru manga."[1]

Biography

Early life and manga artist debut

She was born in Chiba, Chiba as {{nihongo|Sugako Hamada|浜田 菅子|Hamada Sugako}}. The name was taken from Sugawara no Michizane. Her family consists of her father (from Kyushu), her mother, her husband and her elder brother.[1]

After graduating from high school, she went to a vocational school with the aim of becoming a trimmer,[5] but it took more than four hours to travel from her parents' house, and she got tired of the commute (she said that she is a "petit runaway").[1] After graduating from the vocational school, she read the manga Manga Michi depicting the half-life of Fujiko Fujio A, and became impressed, she gave up her dream of becoming a trimmer, and entered the professional training course at the Nihon Manga Juku Daytime Department on April 2005.[5]

Half a year after entering Japanese Manga Juku, Hamada's work was selected as the Best Work Award in the cram school, and Hamada who was on a tune called and brought in the editorial department of Big Comic Spirits. Editors who met Hamada at the time of bringing in, can not believe that they draw manga from Hamada's appearance and behaviour. However, while listening to Hamada's story, an editor who was interested recommended that "if you try to draw on yourself", and she decided to draw a gyaru manga.[1][5]

Manga artist activities

Her pen name was attached from Britney Spears. In addition, there were also "Hilton Hamada," "Beyonce Hamada," etc. as candidates for her pen name.[6]

In 2006, she debuted at Big Comic Spirits Casual in Hyper Tantei Rinka.[7][8] The style of her work was evaluated and hired as an assistant to Hanayo Hanatsu.[9]

In July 2007, Big Comic Spirits began serialising Pagyaru!",[10] depicting the ecology of gyaru in Shibuya using gyaru words. After that, "Britney's life counselings," which answers the reader's consultation in a dialogue form with her editor-in-charge, was also started in the magazine, and during the series.

In March 2008, she held talks with Fujiko Fujio A and Tetsuya Chiba at Big Comic Spirits No. 18[11] and participated in the gravure page of the model Tsubasa Masuwaka.

Personal life

Please don't delete this article because this section, which looks like it is from a fan page and has unnecessary information, is actually from the person's Japanese article.

As a "homeless gyaru manga artist", she lived a life to live in manga cafes or karaoke boxes without settlement. She said that she had paid a pension.[12] She ended her "homeless life" at the end of 2009 and came out when she lived in a condominium in Tokyo with a six tatami room and a Loft store.[13]

Her height is {{height|cm=146}}, three size B85/W65/H85, and bra size G cup.[14] Her weight was {{convert|49|kg|lb}}, but dropped 7 kg in the 2009 Beauty Coliseum Onna Geinin Special to {{convert|42|kg|lb}}. Although she was not confident in confidence, she was considering cosmetic surgery more than before, but made an ornament to make the left and right double eyelids in the United States at the special edition of Masahiro Nakai no Sekai wa Sugee! Koko made Shirabemashita SP broadcast 2 March 2010. She was confident that she had shaped eyes that were complex, revealing that her feelings changed.

A meeting place between Hamada and her editor is exclusively in a karaoke box in Shibuya.[15]

Before becoming a manga artist, her makeup was thin and had a cute face. Her clothes were gal fashion such as Alba Rosa and around twenty years old, she seems to be in a ganglo epidemic generation. However, it was not a flashy girl fashion, it was a relatively ordinary girl fashion, not a ganglo.[1]

Her father was a very tough person, who hits Hamada if she dyed her hair when she was a student, thrown out her white hair dye from her table and beat her, in which she will not lean back home. Furthermore, her parents know that Hamada became a manga artist for the first time when seeing works sold. Although she stayed discontent with her father after she ran away from home, he actually took care of Hamada, and saved the clippings of the magazines from which Hamada cherished.[1] Afterwards, her relationship with her parents were good, in which she gave them a car,[16] gave her mother a smartphone, and uploaded a photo with her mother.[17]

On 25 October 2010, at her former official website, she quit Ever Green Entertainment, in which she belonged from December 2008 when she did entertainment activities, and announced to devote herself on manga. She later launched Piece Eight Co., Ltd. which is a private office. On 2 November, both her former official website and blog would be closed, but the next day she opened a new official website and blog from the 3rd.

On 1 October 2011, she announced that she would resume entertainment activities on her own blog.[18]

She announced her engagement with a non-celebrity man in December 2013, but resolved her engagement in June 2014.[19]

In February 2018 her actual age was 38 years old and that she was pregnant for her first child and told a decision to give birth as a single mother.[4]

She has also a knowledge in video games, and her game speciality mook of 2018 has done a review of the kusoge genre. That book cites Kuru Nara Koi! Ayashige Ikka no Kuroi Kage as her personal PlayStation kusoge ranking first place.[20]

Evaluation

Mimi Usagino of the editorial department at Techinsight Japan says that her bold style of drawing the ecology of contemporary young ladies resembles Yutsuko Chusonji's work. Also, in terms of appearance, there are flashy clothes and makeup from Ado Mizumori, so from the elderly it is said that Hamada's character will not feel new.[12] In addition, Usagino says that Hamada is expressing the whole body with a message such as "there is no house in such a dark era, there are young people who are enjoying living happily." Her entertainment career as a celebrity is cheerful, flashy and slightly obaka but bright and cheap, she says that it is interesting. On the other hand, characters that are called "Manga+Tarento" are many rivals, so immediately afterwards stars of later generations appear, so they are analysing whether they can get bored early.[12]
