释义 |
The Bromley-by-Bow gasholders are a group of seven cast iron Victorian gasholders in Twelvetrees Crescent, West Ham in the London Borough of Newham. It is named after the nearby district of Bromley-by-Bow across the River Lea in London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The gasholders were built between 1872 and 1878 to a design by the engineers Clark & Kirkham. They are all grade II listed with Historic England.[1] It has been proposed that the land on which they are sited be converted to an urban park.[2] In 2018, they were named among the top ten endangered buildings of the Victorian and Edwardian eras in a survey released by the Victorian Society.[3][4] References1. ^{{National Heritage List for England|num=1293590|desc=Gasholder|access-date=13 September 2018}} 2. ^Bromley-By-Bow Gasworks.
