The album was released on April 1, 2016, and is the first to be released via FiXT Music. BackgroundPromotional video single “Floating Point” was announced through Metal Hammer on January 30, 2016[1] with a remix released on the band’s official blog the following month.[2] On March 9, 2016 Metal Underground premiered the music video for “Pointers” along with the track listing for the album. Commenting on the release, Gallego stated the track was “one of my favorite [songs] so far.”[3] The same day the album was made available for pre-order on the band’s website with various bundle options. Some bundles included a MIDI version of the album on a floppy disk.[4][5] On March 30, 2016, two days before official release, the full album was streamed with Metal Hammer accompanied by Gallego's track-by-track analysis of the album.[6] Reception{{Album ratings| title = | subtitle = | MC = | rev1 = It Djents | rev1Score =9/10[7] | rev2 = The Musical Melting Pot | rev2Score =91%[8] | rev3 =The Monolith | rev3Score =Positive [9] | rev4 = New Noise Magazine | rev4Score ={{Rating|4|5}}[10] | rev5 = Team Rock | rev5Score ={{Rating|4|5}}[11] | noprose = }} Upon its release, the album gained generally positive reviews from metal publications. Paulo Bodriguez of The Monolith gave the album a positive review, stating ”The Algorithm…have clearly found their own unique style and sound” while referring to the floppy disk pre-orders as a “cheeky sense of self-awareness”.[9] Nicholas Senior of New Noise Magazine, when observing the progression of The Algorithm’s sound, stated “we hear the band hitting a sweet spot down the middle, with an album that is equally comfortable executing really interesting electronic passages and hard synths as it is hitting the blast beats and post-Meshuggah riffs hard.”[10] Track listingAll songs composed by Rémi Gallego, except "deadlock" by Rémi Gallego and Igorrr.{{Track listing| title1 = boot | length1 = 3:27 | title2 = floating point | length2 = 5:07 | title3 = pointers | length3 = 4:39 | title4 = brute force | length4 = 5:21 | title5 = userspace | length5 = 6:15 | title6 = shellcode | length6 =4:24 | title7 = hex | length7 = 5:03 | title8 = deadlock | note8 = featuring Igorrr | length8 = 2:33 | title9 = rootkit | length9 = 4:47 | title10 = trojans (hard mode) | length10 =4:21 | total_length =45:46 }} Personnel{{col-begin}}{{col-2}}
