The vehicle was introduced on January 12, 2019 at the North American International Auto Show[1] and will go on sale in the fall of 2019 as a 2020 model, with early orders to commence in the summer of 2019.[2] OverviewThe XT6 (short for Crossover Touring 6) is Cadillac’s third crossover SUV, and will be the largest in the XT series, slotted between the XT5 and the standard full size SUV Escalade. The XT6 is slated to be produced at GM's Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, while the Chinese-market XT6 is scheduled to be manufactured in Shanghai by SAIC-GM. The XT6 will also be sold in Russia during the fourth quarter of 2019.[3] While it will serve as the luxury counterpart to the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave in the mid-size crossover SUV segment, it shares a similar wheelbase size with the GMC Acadia.[4] SeatingThe seating configurations was intended to feature 6 seats, as Cadillac had announced that a possible full-size larger crossover SUV could be in the works, but instead will make the XT6 a standard seven-seat vehicle, with the six-seat configuration an optional feature.[5] PowertrainThe XT6 will come with a 3.6L V6 LGX engine, estimated to make {{Convert|310|hp|0|abbr=on}} mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with next-generation Electronic Precision Shift.
