释义 |
The site of Calamyde is located near modern Vlithias.[2][3] Robert Pashley found the site in the 19th century. On the west and southwest sides of the city the walls may be traced for 300 or 400 paces; on the east they extend about 100 paces; while on the south the ridge narrows, and the wall, adapting itself to the natural features of the hill, has not a length of more than 20 paces. This wall is composed of polygonal stones, which have not been touched by the chisel.[4] References1. ^Stadiasmus Maris Magni §§ 333-334. {{DGRG|title=Calamyde}}{{coord|35.24157|N|23.69295|E|display=title|format=dms|source:http://dare.ht.lu.se/places/28785}}{{AncientGreece-stub}}{{Crete-geo-stub}}2. ^{{Cite Barrington|60}} 3. ^{{Cite DARE|28785}} 4. ^Robert Pashley, Trav. vol. ii. p. 124. 4 : Populated places in ancient Crete|Former populated places in Greece|Ancient Greek archaeological sites in Greece|Archaeological sites in Crete |
