Frostman is Governor Tony Evers' nominee to serve as Wisconsin Secretary of Workforce Development. A Democrat, he served as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate representing the 1st district.[1] Frostman is a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He worked for banks in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area and moved to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, in 2016, where he worked for the Door County Economic Development Corporation as their executive director.[2] After Lasee, a Republican, resigned his seat in the Wisconsin Senate, Frostman resigned from his job to run in the special election to fill the vacancy.[3] On June 12, Frostman defeated André Jacque to win the seat.[4][5] He was sworn in on June 28, 2018.[6] He was later defeated by Jacque in November 2018, losing the chance of being elected for a full four-year term.[7] Governor Tony Evers appointed him as Wisconsin Secretary of Workforce Development.[8] Electoral history{{Election box begin no change|title=Wisconsin's 1st Senate district special election, 2018[9]}}{{Election box winning candidate with party link no change |candidate = Caleb Frostman |party = Democratic Party (United States) |votes = 14,606 |percentage = 51.3 }}{{Election box candidate with party link no change |candidate = André Jacque |party = Republican Party (United States) |votes = 13,801 |percentage = 48.5 }}{{Election box total no change | votes = 28,427 | percentage = 100.00 }}{{Election box end}}{{Election box begin no change |title=Wisconsin's 1st Senate district, 2018[10]}}{{Election box winning candidate with party link no change |candidate = André Jacque |party = Republican Party (United States) |votes = 47,826 |percentage = 54.5 }}{{Election box candidate with party link no change |candidate = Caleb Frostman |party = Democratic Party (United States) |votes = 39,414 |percentage = 45.5 }}{{Election box total no change | votes = 86,700 | percentage = 100.00 }}{{Election box end}} References1. ^{{cite web |author=Wisconsin State Senate |title=Senator Caleb Frostman |accessdate=July 4, 2018 |url=https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2017/legislators/senate/1794}} {{s-start}}{{s-par|us-wi-sen}}{{s-bef|before=Frank Lasee}}{{s-ttl|title=Member of the Wisconsin State Senate from the 1st district|years=2018-present}}{{s-inc}}{{s-end}}{{Wisconsin State Senators}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Frostman, Caleb}}{{Wisconsin-WISenate-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|author=Jonathan Anderson|url=https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/2018/06/08/caleb-frostman-melds-progressive-vision-business-experience/677633002/ |title=Caleb Frostman melds progressive vision with business experience |publisher=Greenbaypressgazette.com |date=June 8, 2018 |accessdate=June 13, 2018}} 3. ^{{cite web|author= April 17, 2018 |url=https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/local/door-co/news/2018/04/17/caleb-frostman-resign-countys-economic-development-corp-focus-senate-campaign/524378002/ |title=Caleb Frostman resigns from Door County EDC, runs for state Senate |publisher=Greenbaypressgazette.com |date=April 17, 2018 |accessdate=June 13, 2018}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/caleb-frostman-wisconsin_us_5b2079ade4b09d7a3d7845e9 |title=Democrats Score Special Election Upset In Wisconsin District Trump Won Big | HuffPost |publisher=Huffingtonpost.com |date= |accessdate=June 13, 2018}} 5. ^https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/2018/06/12/caleb-frostman-defeats-andre-jacque-1st-senate-district-special-election/686543002/ 6. ^{{cite news |last=Razavi |first=Justin |publisher=We Are Green Bay |title=Caleb Frostman Sworn In Thursday |accessdate=July 4, 2018 |url=https://www.wearegreenbay.com/news/local-news/caleb-frostman-to-be-sworn-in-thursday/1270274734}} 7. ^{{cite news |last1=Welter |first1=Liz |title=Andre Jacque wins Senate District 1 seat |url=https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/local/door-co/news/2018/11/07/wisconsin-election-andre-jacque-wins-senate-district-1-seat/1905950002/ |accessdate=November 11, 2018 |work=Green Bay Press-Gazette |date=November 11, 2018}} 8. ^https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/wisconsin/articles/2019-01-03/the-latest-evers-picks-barca-frostman-for-cabinet-posts 9. ^{{cite web |author=Wisconsin Secretary of State |title=Ward by Ward Report 2018 Special Election State Senate District 1 |accessdate=July 4, 2018 |url=http://elections.wi.gov/sites/default/files/Ward%20by%20Ward%20Report-6.12.18%20Special%20Election%20Senate%201.pdf}} 10. ^{{cite news |last1=Welter |first1=Liz |title=Andre Jacque wins Senate District 1 seat |url=https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/local/door-co/news/2018/11/07/wisconsin-election-andre-jacque-wins-senate-district-1-seat/1905950002/ |accessdate=November 11, 2018 |work=Green Bay Press-Gazette |date=November 11, 2018}} 6 : Living people|Politicians from Green Bay, Wisconsin|Wisconsin Democrats|Wisconsin state senators|University of Wisconsin–Madison alumni|1984 births |
