"El pardo" was one of the precursors of tango in the Río de la Plata, who were called as La Guardia Vieja. At the beginning of his musical career, Canaveris had integrated the first tango orchestra of Buenos Aires, directed by the bandoneonist Antonio Chiappe.[8] These first tango musicians were of African descent, and among the most famous were Sebastián Ramos Mejía, "el pardo", and Leopoldo Thompson, "el negro".[9] Carlos Canaveris belonged to a family of musicians. His son Carlos Canaveri Sosa, was a renowned guitarist who performed on Radio París of Buenos Aires.[10] And her sister, Isabel Canaveri composed the "Cardo Azul", poem recorded by Carlos Gardel and José Razzano for the Odeon Records in 1913.[11] His father, Carlos Canaveri Ravelo, was a military man, who owned land in the area of Veinticinco de Mayo (Buenos Aires Province).[12] References1. ^{{Citation |last= |first= |year= |title=El Buenos Aires de Angel G.
