As of February 2016, it houses 4 species from Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina.[1] Etymology"Catumiri" means "very small" in the Tupi language, referring to the small size of most species.[3] CharacteristicsCatumiri has a labium which is much wider than long, and also houses few cuspules along with the maxillae. The anterior scopula is divided by setae, and the female spermathecae have only one lobe/terminus at the end of it. The male's prolateral region of the tarsal claw has a row of spines.[2]Species
