The Salisbury Avon forms part of the northern boundary of the parish. To the south, beyond the A342 from Devizes to Upavon, the parish extends onto Salisbury Plain. Local governmentWilsford elects a joint parish council with nearby Charlton St Peter; the council is named Charlton and Wilsford. It falls within the area of the Wiltshire Council unitary authority, which is responsible for all significant local government functions. AmenitiesThe 13th-century Church of England parish church of St Nicholas is Grade II* listed.[2] A school was built in 1848 and educated children of all ages until 1934.
