Carl Gustaf Mauritz Nilsson, better known as Charles Redland (July 7, 1911, Södertälje - August 18, 1994, Stockholm) was a Swedish jazz saxophonist, bandleader, and composer.[1]

Redland grew up in a musical family and learned to play a variety of instruments as a child. He was frequently active as a sideman in Swedish bands in the 1930s on saxophone, clarinet, trombone, and trumpet, and led his own bands, including on recordings, in the 1930s and subsequently.[2]

Eventually, Redland became better known as a composer and arranger, working in jazz and popular music idioms. He also composed for more than 80 films, as well as for radio and TV programs.[3]
