The catchment area of the school includes Cheslyn Hay, Essington and Featherstone, However the school also attracts pupils who live further afield. Cheslyn Hay Sport and Community High School offers GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels.[2] The school also has a specialism in sports. Annual Minecraft hunger games championshipEvery year on the 21st September, the school hosts a Minecraft hunger games championship where Each house team selects 4 students from each house group (consisting of 2 boys and 2 girls) and do a championship in a standard league table format. The map is randomly generated for Round 1 but for Round 2 the Map is voted on by students. The Victors of the championship win 1000 V-Bucks and a pizza party.
