Life and careerDoxas was born to parents whom were teachers. In his youth, he was in a swing jazz ensemble which performed around Montreal.[2] He later attended McGill University where he would perform his music. After not finding any career growth in Montreal, he moved to New York City to further his career.[3] After non-award-winning albums (including Big Sky and Dive, which he recorded before moving to New York),[4] Doxas had a breakthrough with his Rich in Symbols album which in 2018 was nominated for a Juno award for Best Jazz solo album of the year. Rich in Symbols is different than most jazz albums due to a more rock world studio approach. The album features guitar work on select tracks by Dave Nugent.[5] Doxas has also been a member of the Sam Roberts Band where he would play the woodwind instrument.[6] References1. ^{{cite web |title=CHET DOXAS: THE JAZZ IN COLORAMA |url=https://voir.ca/musique/2018/06/29/chet-doxas-le-jazz-en-colorama/ |website=Voir Canada |publisher=Voir Canada |accessdate=24 July 2018}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Doxas, Chet}}2. ^{{cite web |title=Meet the Doxas clan a Montreal family of Jazz |url=https://montrealgazette.com/entertainment/arts/kevin-tierney-meet-the-doxas-clan-a-montreal-family-of-jazz. |website=Montreal Gazette |publisher=Montreal Gazette |accessdate=25 July 2018}} 3. ^{{cite web |title=Live from New York Montreal native Chet Doxas |url=http://www.thesuburban.com/life/lifestyles/live-from-new-york-montreal-native-chet-doxas/article_b9255a0e-0fd0-5f7e-a979-4cb48ba6ed85.html |website=The Suburban |publisher=The Suburban |accessdate=25 July 2018}} 4. ^{{cite web |title=Big Sky review by John Kelman |url=https://www.allaboutjazz.com/big-sky-chet-doxas-justin-time-records-review-by-john-kelman.php |website=All About Jazz |publisher=All About Jazz |accessdate=25 July 2018}} 5. ^{{cite web |title=Jazzman Chet Doxas finds inspiration in 1980s graffiti art, No Wave music |url=https://ottawacitizen.com/entertainment/local-arts/chet-doxas-explains-the-artistic-inspiration-behind-his-latest-cd-rich-in-symbols |website=Ottawa Citizen |publisher=Ottawa Citizen |accessdate=25 July 2018}} 6. ^{{cite web |title=Sam Roberts Band spread their human heart at the Orpheum |url=http://vancouverweekly.com/sam-roberts-band-spreads-their-human-heat-at-the-orpheum-57178-2/ |website=Vancouver Weekly |publisher=Vancouver Weekly |accessdate=25 July 2018}} 7 : Living people|Canadian male singers|McGill University alumni|Saxophonists|21st-century saxophonists|21st-century male musicians|Year of birth missing (living people) |
