Capili-Jocson) is a Filipino serving the Philippine government as Assistant to the Presidential Spokesperson[1] (Deputy to the Presidential Spokesperson) for Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte since July 2017.[2] On April 2018, she was also appointed by the Special Envoy of the Philippines to the United States as its Deputy to the Ambassador. Jocson was a former broadcast journalist for GMA News and Public Affairs (2003-2006) and later moved to lifestyle journalism (2010-2016), spearheading the lifestyle content of the same network.[3] Family and backgroundJocson comes from a lineage of notable government officials, she is the granddaughter of Atty. Tomas P. Matic who was Government Corporate Counsel[4] during President Diosdado Macapagal’s administration and a bar top notcher, she is also kin to former Bureau of Internal Revenue Director, Umiral Matic, who was controversially kidnapped and killed while serving then Vice President Joseph Estrada. She is the sole successor to her grandmother Donya Marcela "Apung Cela" Jocson of Pampanga, the family matriarch. Jocson is the daughter of Robert Capili (deceased), a trustee at Zuellig Pharma Corporation and Di Datu, member of a distinguished banking and finance clan.
