Chlorantraniliprole activates Ryanodine receptor via stimulation of the release of calcium stores from the Sarcoplasmic reticulum of muscle cells ( i.e. for chewing insect pest) causing impaired regulation, paralysis and ultimately death of sensitive species. The differential selectivity Chlorantraniliprole had towards insect rynodine receptors explained the outstanding profile of low mammalian toxicity. Chlorantraniliprole is active on chewing pest insects primarily by ingestion and secondarily by contact.
